how to change language on chromebook
It is very easy to change the language that is used on a Chromebook from within ChromeOS. If the keys on your keyboard are inputting the wrong characters when you type, the keyboard input language might need to be changed. You can also change the display language setting so that the Chrome operating system displays notifications, menus, and other system text in your primary language. This document provides information on how to change what language your operating system displays in, and how to change the keyboard layout for writing in a different language. This comes directly from the guys over at Google. (Original Link: Change language settings – Chrome OS Help).
Changing the display language and keyboard input language on Chromebook
1. Click the status area in the lower-right corner, where your account picture appears.
2. Click on Settings.
3. Click on Show advanced settings.
4. Scroll down and click on Customize languages and input.
5. Click on Add to add additional languages.
6. To enable a language for keyboard input, select the checkbox next to English the language after adding it.
7. Click on OK when finished.
Once you have added your new keyboard layout to your Chromebook, you will see a new keyboard indicator in the settings area. This shows you which language you are currently typing in. To switch the keyboard layout to a different language, use the Alt + Shift key combination. Now you can easily toggle between the two (or more) languages when typing.
