When is the iPhone 13's Release Date?
Apple announced the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro at its September "California Streaming" event, revealing the long-awaited features of the new smartphones ahead of the first devices arriving to customers.
After a later-than-usual launch for the iPhone 12 models last year, Apple has returned to its traditional September smartphone unveiling timeframe for the iPhone 13 lineup, which features model options in the same sizes as the iPhone 12 lineup, including a 5.4-inch iPhone 13 mini, 6.1-inch iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro, and 6.7-inch iPhone 13 Pro Max.
The iPhone 13 features a smaller notch, a brighter display, a faster A15 Bionic chip, repositioned rear cameras, a larger sensor on the Wide camera, sensor-shift stabilization, "Cinematic mode" to blur the background of video and rack focus, and more.
On the other hand, the iPhone 13 Pro features all of the improvements that came to the standard iPhone 13 models, but added a ProMotion display for refresh rates up to 120Hz, an improved Telephoto camera, a more powerful variant of the A15 Bionic chip, up to 1TB of storage, and a new Sierra Blue color option.
The iPhone 13 mini starts at $699 with 128GB of base storage, up from the previous 64GB. The iPhone 13 starts at $799. The iPhone 13 Pro starts at $999, while the iPhone 13 Pro Max starts at $1,099.
Pre-orders for all of the new iPhone models opened on Friday, September 17 at 5:00 a.m. Pacific Time, with devices starting to arriving to customers on Friday, 24 September. The new models will also be available in stores beginning on that same date.
